I think salty desserts get a lot of judgement for absolutely no reason. Salty and sweet is one of the best combinations in my personal opinion.
Anyway, I was really feeling like making a salty cookie so this is what I came up with. I’ve seen a lot of videos of people adding crisps to their cookies, this is optional but I recommend it, they add a good crunch. But also use salted crisps, I feel like any other flavour might be a little weird.

Salty Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients
Makes: 9
100g unsalted butter
50g cocoa powder
100g brown sugar
100g granulated sugar
2 eggs
220g plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
100g dark chocolate
(chopped, also you can use any kind of chocolate)80g salted crisps
(optional)plus some peanut butter
Directions
- start by adding 9 tablespoon sized dollops of peanut butter onto a tray. leave these in the freezer
- to make the cookie dough, melt your butter then whiles it's still warm, mix in the cocoa powder
- add in both sugars, then mix. then mix in the eggs
- in a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. add this into the other bowl and mix everything together until a dough forms
- now just mix in the chocolate and peanut butter
- to make the cookie dough balls, get 100g of the dough, flatten it out then add a piece of frozen peanut butter on top. now roll the cookie dough into a ball making sure the peanut butter is fully covered
- do this until you've used all the dough, then leave these in the fridge for at least 30 minutes
- at this point also pre-heat your oven to 180c/350f
- once the cookie dough balls have chilled, add them onto a large baking paper lined tray making sure to leave a gap between them. i only ever add 6 on one tray
- bake these for around 20 minutes. once they were baked i added some flaky salt on top and then let them sit on the tray for 10 minutes before trying to pick them up!!
